Parkway started out as Liza Bec (vocals, recorder, sax, keys) and Dave Winkler (vocals, guitar). In a collision of two completely different musical traditions. Liza is a Trinity College graduate with a folk and classical background, Dave, a touring rock and metal guitarist, having previously supported the Darkness & Skid Row, the band have melded to form an original and exciting ensemble.
With the addition of an awesome rhythm section, Kamil Krol (drums/vocals)and Christina Lake (bass/vocals), they debuted with some acoustic shows in late 2013 to test the water, supporting John Corabi (ex-Motley Crue) and Toby Jepson (Little Angels/Dio Desciples), before unleashing the full rock experience on New Years Eve.
Parkway are influenced by artists as varied as Queen, Cheap Trick, the Cult, Garbage, KISS and the Wildhearts, not to mention Liza’s addiction to all things musical theatre!
King With No Throne are an electro-trance, trip-hop band that uses a fine balance between traditional acoustic instruments and technology, such as keys and backing tracks to produce a sound that can comfortably fill any venue large or small. Members Reto Wittwer (vocals, guitar, keys and composition) and Kasem Chouja (drums, composition) are based in London where they record, write music and play gigs.
Whilst not being a rock band, fans describe King With No Throne as one that would do very well playing their music in festivals, large stages or stadiums and in certain dance type clubs. The music is highly visual and they incorporate this element increasingly of late. Over the past year we have played in Switzerland’s Das Festival with Simple Minds and venues in Germany and London.
The band aspires to play their music within an innovative context where image, sound and performance can come together to give the audience something deep and deserving of their time, energy and support.
For the past two months King With No Throne have been composing new material with the aim to record in June and to launch a series of gigs to promote their new recording.
Taikonaut are an exciting 4 piece heavy art rock band from South London, formed by driven pro musicians bored of the shiny production of the pop and rock scene. Taikonaut play skilled, raw, thinking man’s rock music.
Taikonaut are the definition of the DIY outfit, writing, producing, mastering and distributing all their own material, with emphasis on songwriting and artistic freedom.Hooks, Riffs, groves that move you and the occasional musical outburst typify this new band of experienced hands.
The band members have toured extensively through England, Europe and Canada, and cut their teeth working in Teaching and recording studios in and around London. Brought together by a shared desire for a back to basics approach to live music, Taikonaut fondly evoke an old school ethos with some new school ideas.
Native Birds are “four young men from London hitting instruments to make sounds happen”. They play alternative indie rock, and their influences include Arcade Fire, Blur and Tears for Fears.
Jimmy Getaway & The Friends are a Rock group, writing and playing their own original material. bassist Ben Edwards, guitarist Nicki Boiardi and drummer Peter Restrick are world class musicians, playing in a wide variety of styles; mysterious punk-poet Jimmy Getaway performs mesmerisingly as the front-man.
