This synth-rock combo formed a year ago and has already stormed onto bills with the likes of William Control, Evil Scarecrow and the Cruxshadows. Now poised to release their debut album, ‘Electric Eden’, they return for their first gig of 2014 after their winter in the studio.
The Limited was formed in London when two former members of the Devon based band The Iconyx, guitarist Joshua Iszard and bassist Matthew Featherstone found their match in two Welsh boys, lead singer Aled Williams and drummer Jack Howell. It all started with a few to many drinks and a couple of acoustic guitars, but realised the morning after that they really did have something that someone needed to hear.
Native Birds are “four young men from London hitting instruments to make sounds happen”. They play alternative indie rock, and their influences include Arcade Fire, Blur and Tears for Fears.
The band wanted to make a different sound and appeal to a broader audience than a lot of the bands that are currently making music today. The difference being, essentially to have more Motown, country and pop influences rather than the out and out ‘Indie’ sound. While they have the raw energy of a rock n roll band, The Shantlys’ sound is completely new and fresh, and the introduction of the Heslin sisters accompanying the lead vocal only compliments the bands music and songwriting further still.
Formed in December 2012, this London based band consists of Adrian Badger (Vocals/Guitar), Dan Howe (Guitar) David Foster (Drums) and Callum Hayes (Bass/Vocals). This guitar driven, harmony led band inject vitality into the tired rock formula and are fast establishing themselves as an incendiary live act.
