Faraday Cage + Chloe Boleti + Earth Before the Deluge + Zara + Black Fish + Jordan Laughlin
THE GEORGE TAVERN, SHADWELL, LONDON
373 Commercial Road, London E1 0LA
Tickets: £4 in advance, £5 on the door
Faraday Cage are a 4-piece band of brothers and friends from the suburbs of South-East London. They experiment with their sound, creating mixtures of lo-fi alt rock, indie-pop, post rock and psychedelic vibes all with the intention of making you dance.
Chloe’s alternative and diverse culture, blends to form a fusion of Neo Soul, Hip Hop and Alternative with a dash of experimental sounds that mirror and recreate the confusion that is love and our emotional perception of the world. Along with the help of her band, Massimiliano Mechelli (guitar), Parijat Mittoo (drums), Joe Abraso (bass), Arun Raju & Corinne Thomas (backing vocals) it will surely leave you wanting a tad bit more.
EARTH BEFORE THE DELUGE
Earth Before the Deluge is a four piece guitar band from London playing the type of raw energetic rock that seems to be absent from our lives. Switching from fuzz distorted riffs to melodic bliss they are snarling mess of contradictions and have been described as heavy or soft, thoughtful and thoughtless loud or quiet, but mostly loud.
ZARA (acoustic set)
Zara is an electro-grunge-rock band from South London. Sarah who fronts the band is part-vampire, and was very flattered to be called a “female Bowie” on more than one occasion. Clamor, an awesome guitarist hailing from Germany, grew up with Trio and Kraftwerk as influences. Zara began three years ago making odd covers of Gary Numan songs and soon branched out into original material. The sound is compared to Sonic Youth , the Kills, Nirvana, the Pixies and Blondie (Sarah hates that comparison)!
For this gig they are leaving the 80s drum machine at home, and going naked (in a musical sense) with an acoustic duo set. Should be interesting, and dark…
The new-born Black Fish project is a fresh collaboration between an Italian blues vocalist and an eclectic English guitar player.
Jessica De Giudici grew artistically through ten years of engagement with the Blues. From rugged busking environments to fortified and critically acclaimed Italian Jazz/Blues Festivals.
Nick Ruddock is a versatile and talented working guitarist able to play a wide range of styles at the tip of the hat. He spends his time between gigging, writing, function and session work as well as teaching guitar.
Having served time honing their skills across Europe, they now pay their dues to the Mothers and Fathers of the American Blues.
Jordan Laughlin is a songwriter originating from Gosport and has been gigging around London for 3 years. Influenced by grunge and folk artists the live music and performance speaks for itself. Nick Mackay is often a key feature in the live act playing Djembe. Jordan is currently recording his debut album ‘Memos’ with a collaborative effort from many other musicians and friends.
