RANGOON

Rangoon

If there’s a genre called “Urban Country”, Rangoon claims it. Thumping rhythms, underlie blues based original material with country overtones and gritty street cred. Melodrama, passion and humour abound in stories of love and loss where fantasy and reality clash, and nothing is resolved. You can hear Neil Young, Tom Waits, even Nick Drake in the mix with a touch of Dan Hicks. Hailing from Australia, England and South Africa, Rangoon is Will Hudson on guitars and vocals, Michele Haniotis on drums and vocals, Andy Aylett on Fender bass and Laurence Scates on tenor and soprano sax.
